The harvesting in Douro starts by the beginning of September and ends by the first weeks of October. People who do the grapes' harvesting have to deal with extreme working conditions, from high heat to extremely difficult schistous rocky paths, heavy loads and all day long being bent to pick the grapes manually. Despite these difficulties, men and women, keep singing traditional Portuguese songs while they work, contrasting with the silence of the high hillsides and breath taking landscapes of the Douro valley.

The squad will fly, always in formation and on sight, a total of 4700km (2500 nautical miles), VFR (Visual Flight Rules), at an average altitude of about 1500ft (450m) and on some points of the course reaching the 7.000 ft (2,133m). The flight will be done over Portugal, Spain, France, Germany and Austria, crossing the Pyrenees and the Alps. These 3rd generation ultralight aircrafts, with an autonomy of 1.000 km (540 nautical miles), 100hp engines, capable of reaching the speed of 300km/h (186 miles/h), will, however, deal with several challenges, including the one that may force the squad to land - bad weather, like heavy rains, thunderstorms or string gusty winds.
